Things I love Thursday - Back to Nature

I love the Back to Nature foods that I've tried. Granted, they're probably not 100% healthy, but better than some other stuff you can buy out there! I've only tried the honey graham sticks and the peanut butter sandwich cookies. But I did buy some of the cinnamon graham sticks and some of their chocolate chunk cookies. For sampling purposes. And because we are leaving on a vacation and of course we need food in the car. They aren't wheat free, so I don't have to, I mean, can't share with Emma.

I will not be posting for a week since we will be gone and I don't even know if Dell is going with us. I don't know how we could leave him at home since he is our oldest "child". But I leave important decisions like that to K.

Talk to you in a week!

Things I love Thursday - Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube

I won this at the Bloggy Giveaways carnival last April. So it was free. I love free stuff. But I really love this toy. Emma likes it, too. It plays Mozart music and I like the songs. They're okay to have stuck in your head. When you push the colorful side buttons, the song starts playing with whatever instrument's button you have pushed. There is a piano, violin, flute, harp and french horn. Push the button again, and that instrument stops playing. So you can add or remove instruments as you please. If you push the "orchestra" button all of the instruments play and it switches between 8 Mozart melodies. And there is an on/off switch in case you don't want to hear the music anymore! I haven't seen them at a "regular" department store. I haven't looked too hard though, since we already have one. But you can find them at Amazon.com.

Things I love Thursday - baby water shoes

My mom bought Emma water shoes from a thrift store. So they were super cheap. I didn't even know Emma needed them, but she does. And I love them, too. Last Sunday we went to a water park and she wore the water shoes the whole time. It was great because I didn't have to worry about her stepping on something or burning her feet on the sidewalk. I had bare feet and it was hot!

Now when she plays in her pool in the backyard, she thinks she needs to wear them. Or at least play with them in the pool. Whatever keeps her entertained!

Things I love Thursday - gf crackers

Oh, the snack of choice for my little one. She loves her "cwackah". We have her on a wheat free diet because wheat seems to give her hive-like spots. I've found the easiest way to go wheat free is to just go gluten free. After some searching, I found some gluten free animal cookies that she loves - Mi-del Arrowroot Animal Cookies. They are similar to animal crackers. Obviously the taste is different but the texture is a bit different also. I bought them at our local health food store, but I have seen the Mi-del Gluten Free Ginger Snaps at Wal*mart.

Another gluten free cracker that she likes is Glutino Gluten Free crackers. They are similar in shape and taste to Ritz crackers. If it were me eating them, I'd really like them with cheese! In fact, I usually do give her cheese with these crackers, but she eats them separately.

If you have more gluten (or wheat) free cracker ideas, I would love to hear them! The crackers have to be pretty plain at this point since I'm feeding them to a 18-month-old who is picky. I've tried giving her some cheddar flavored rice crackers and she ate them, but kept shuddering as she was eating them.

Things I love Thursday - Windex

I use Windex to clean my bathrooms, bathroom floors and windows. While I don't use it obsessively like the dad in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", I do use it a lot. Back when I started using Windex there was only one flavor: ammonia. I liked the Windex, but not the smell. Now I love the Windex with vinegar in it. It smells so much better than the ammonia one. I haven't tried the antibacterial Windex...has anyone tried that? Is it good?

Things I love Thursday - Emma's pacifier

I love Emma's pacifier is because it helps her sleep. I think. I'm sure she could sleep without it, but we haven't tried that yet. But her paci works great if we're out somewhere and she is sad because I told her she couldn't eat the blue crayon. Pop it in and she's muted. It works well when she's sick, too. When she's sick, she would rather lay in bed with her pacifier than rock in the chair with me. More sleep for me.

Emma's pacifier is a Gumdrop pacifier. My mom got it for her when she was born. We've since gotten 3 more and lost 1. (A math problem!) So we're down to 3 pacifiers. She does look a little funny with it in, but we've gotten used to it. My dad used to call it a peace pipe. Exactly.

Things I love Thursday - my Chap Stick

I found a new chap stick that I love. It's of the Chap Stick brand called 100% Naturals. Go here to check them out. I tried the Botanical Medley flavor. I believe there are other different flavors if that doesn't sound very good. It doesn't have all those ingredients in it that aren't very good for you. To be eating. Since it's on your lips. I found it at Wally world for around $2.50. It's a bit more expensive than the regular ones, but not horrible. I don't think it has SPF in it, though, if that's important to you. Try it out and let me know if you love it too!
