Saturday morning, I spent an hour outside planting some already blooming flowers that I had purchased. As opposed to planting the seeds that I had purchased, but waited too long to plant. I was accompanied by my trusty sidekick, Emma. She was a big umm...help. Well, actually she just wanted to play with my shovel and try to dig up or hit the flowers. But it kept her entertained while I frantically planted flowers.
Did I mention the dirt? I don't know if dirt is the right term - it's actually clay here in Nebraska. Yuck! I grew up in Iowa where there is actually dirt. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with the clay. I just threw some planting soil in with the clay in hope that the flowers don't die within the first week.

Here's a picture of the finished product. Please ignore the daffodil leaves. The daffodils are really pretty for the week or two that they are out, but I don't like having to wait until the leaves die off to pull them out. Apparently if you don't wait to pull them out until they turn brown, they won't come back next year. Hmmm...
